WA Museum New Museum Project 2009-2021

Project details

17,000 sqm of new construction         6,000 sqm of refurbished heritage buildings
400 sqm of cafe space                     1,300 sqm of covered outdoor space      
600 sqm of learning space                600 sqm venue space
7,000 sqm of exhibition space in 8 galleries located in both new and heritage spaces that featured:
Over 8000 artefacts and specimens housed in hundreds of showcases
150 specially commissioned, highly realistic models and mechanical interactives
Over 200 multimedia from oral histories and films to large scale animation projections
More than 2500 exhibition graphics that incorporated hundreds of both created, and sourced and copyright cleared images
New app which provides additional content 

Role details - Project Director, Content and Operations

Developed business case - museum planning and budget, workforce and time requirements
Delivered enabling projects -  demolition of existing building, stakeholder engagement and audience research, collection management system, construction of off-site collections storage, and branding
Facilitated museum redevelopment project definition and architectural brief development
Recruited team - onboarding and ongoing performance and development monitoring
Lead content procurement planning, content masterplanning and design brief development
Oversaw content and exhibition design development
Oversaw exhibition fabrication, production and installation
Prepared for transition to operations Managed staff, budget, information and other resources ensure they are effectively deployed to deliver the project objectives

Australian Museum Revitalisation Project 2005-2008

Project details

Creation of new 5000 sqm Collections and Research Building
Refurbishment of visitor amenities in 670 sqm of heritage spaces
Refurbishment of 1700 sqm of heritage gallery space
Creation of two new exhibitions in refurbished gallery spaces

Role details - Revitalisation Project Officer

Engaged building and exhibition design consultant teams 
Delivered $0.5M refurbishment of ticketing, retail and hospitality in 2006
Delivered $3M refurbishment of two major heritage gallery spaces in 2007
Managed the development of the $1.2M Dinosaurs exhibition to opening in 2008

Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum Project 2001-2005

Project details
Restoration of 1876 Bathurst Public School building to house the Museum
Numbering, documenting and housing thousands of mineral and fossil specimens into museum-quality storage
Creation of two permanent galleries, one temporary gallery and a reception and shop space
Role details - Museum Planner and Manager
Planned and managed the implementation of this new regional museum including successful grant and sponsorship proposals to fund building works and displays
Led the exhibition, public and learning program and volunteer program development
Managed the post-opening operations
